Making Queensland the national innovation leader
The Palaszczuk Government will increase its investment in innovation and creating the jobs of the future to $405 million to advance Queensland’s new economy.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today announced the acceleration of Advance Queensland as a budget centrepiece with 13 additional initiatives to ignite the state’s economic growth and diversity.
“I’m determined to make Queensland Australia’s innovation leader, which is why I have dramatically increased our investment and broadened our focus to embrace opportunities across the economy,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
“We have turned our $180 million Advance Queensland Innovation and jobs plan into a $405 million whole-of-government innovation agenda, to help create the jobs of the future.
“Advance Queensland is key to our state’s economic diversity. We are backing the innovators – startups, small business, school kids, farmers, scientists, researchers, tradespeople, engineers, doctors,
teachers – because that will create a new era of opportunity for Queenslanders.”
