The Queensland Government recently announced its Accelerating Advance Queensland package, taking its innovation and investment fund to $405 million. Advance Queensland is designed to help the state to unlock business potential, strengthen existing industries and foster new ones, attract investment and harness innovation.
In April 2016, Advance Queensland hosted the inaugural Innovation and Investment Summit to put a global spotlight on Queensland innovation, bringing together some of the world’s best visionaries in technology and innovation. The summit sessions explored how we think about innovation and what it means for Queensland businesses. Some of the key industries the sessions focussed on included agriculture technology, energy and resources, life sciences and medical technology, and creative industries.
The summit attracted over 1700 attendees in person and also reached a social media audience of 20.5 million.
The summit was jointly presented by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, and the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation. You can view highlights of the sessions here.
OTM was pleased to be able to support the production of this successful event and a number of other engagement, event and publicity initiatives for Advance Queensland, including the more recent Advance Queensland Budget Breakfast.
